The smaller school environment has been amazing. It has given us a chance to get to know the staff and the community that surrounds our children and build relationships with those individuals.

We are given a front row seat to our child’s education. And that is super unique. We are also allowed to do that within a community that loves and supports not only our child, but us as a family and as individual parents.

I love the university model for our family. It gives us the flexibility for family time while adding extra structure to make sure school happens. My kids love that they have social interaction on campus days but lots of unstructured play on satellite days.

I love that, as a parent, I don’t carry the constant “mom guilt” of wondering if enough was accomplished during our satellite days. When my children complete their assignments, I can confidently know the school day was successful. I’m also incredibly thankful to have other believers pouring into my daughters’ lives while encouraging and supporting me throughout this parenting journey.

I love university style schooling because it allows us to help our children grow academically while keeping Christ at the center. I love the University style school because it partners with parents to raise children in God's truth and wisdom. Some of the conversations we have at home would not happen in a traditional school setting and we love that aspect of this style of school.

I can confidently say that teaching at a university model school has reignited my passion for teaching completely. I love that it is considered part time so I get some really intentional time at home with my son and family that I did not have before while still getting to do what I believe God has gifted me to do and to be a teacher.

We get this opportunity to teach and disciple their kids right alongside these parents and that is such a unique bond that not many schools have. Getting to build that partnership, getting to share our teaching skills and training that we have, to empower these co-teachers is just incredible.

We can work together effectively because both of us spend a lot of time with their students versus one of us spending a lot more time than the other.

For me as a teacher, I love this model because I can actually breathe. I can rest. I know that it is not all up to me. We have families that are participating in our model because they truly believe what it stands for. They are buying into and involved in their child’s education. I love to see all our families acting like a village. We are all working together to see our children succeed and to see our children grow.
