Academics

We are a University-Model® school

The University-Model® is a five-day academic program where students spend 2-3 days on campus in the central classroom with their lead teachers and 2-3 days in their satellite classroom under the instruction of co-teachers (typically a parent). At CRCA:

  • Campus classroom days are Tuesdays & Thursdays.
  • Satellite classroom days are Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays.

Desired Outcomes of a CRCA Student

CRCA desires to partner with parents to equip students for whatever God has called them to. We will be faithful to plant seeds of the gospel and pray for the Holy Spirit to work in the lives of students and families that are a part of the CRCA community. Some of our students will go on to college, others will go into the trades, others to missions or ministry, others into family business or home life and we would celebrate graduates who walk any of those avenues with faithfulness and fruitfulness. Our desires are not just for those who graduate with a diploma from CRCA, but for any student that spends any amount of time, long or short, at CRCA. We want them to look back and see growth and look forward and feel confident about the next steps God has called them to in life.

Ownership

In the elementary years, parents serve as Assistant Teachers, providing hands-on guidance and support. In middle school, parents become Supervisors, fostering accountability and independence. By high school, parents transition into Mentors as students take increasing ownership of their learning, faith, and personal growth.

Grit

We don’t shy away from the hard, slow work of learning. Through thoughtfully chosen curriculum and meaningful challenges, CRCA students develop perseverance, resilience, and confidence to work through rather than avoid  difficulty.

Collaboration

Satellite days are prep for the classroom, where learning happens together. Life requires the knowledge and application of both hard facts and soft skills. We teach that people and relationships matter and success is a team achievement.

Faith

We desire students not only to learn about faith, but to grow into a faith that becomes their own through the work of the Holy Spirit. By viewing every subject and everyday experience through a biblical worldview, students grow in wisdom, discernment, and confidence in God’s truth as they learn to follow Christ with conviction.

Testimonials

The smaller school environment has been amazing. It has given us a chance to get to know the staff and the community that surrounds our children and build relationships with those individuals.

Parent
We are given a front row seat to our child’s education. And that is super unique. We are also allowed to do that within a community that loves and supports not only our child, but us as a family and as individual parents.
Tanya
Parent
I love the university model for our family. It gives us the flexibility for family time while adding extra structure to make sure school happens. My kids love that they have social interaction on campus days but lots of unstructured play on satellite days.
Tiffany
Parent
I love that, as a parent, I don’t carry the constant “mom guilt” of wondering if enough was accomplished during our satellite days. When my children complete their assignments, I can confidently know the school day was successful. I’m also incredibly thankful to have other believers pouring into my daughters’ lives while encouraging and supporting me throughout this parenting journey.

Parent
I love university style schooling because it allows us to help our children grow academically while keeping Christ at the center. I love the University style school because it partners with parents to raise children in God's truth and wisdom. Some of the conversations we have at home would not happen in a traditional school setting and we love that aspect of this style of school.

Parent
I can confidently say that teaching at a university model school has reignited my passion for teaching completely. I love that it is considered part time so I get some really intentional time at home with my son and family that I did not have before while still getting to do what I believe God has gifted me to do and to be a teacher.
Rachel
Teacher
We get this opportunity to teach and disciple their kids right alongside these parents and that is such a unique bond that not many schools have. Getting to build that partnership, getting to share our teaching skills and training that we have, to empower these co-teachers is just incredible.
Rachel
Teacher
We can work together effectively because both of us spend a lot of time with their students versus one of us spending a lot more time than the other.
Katie
Teacher
For me as a teacher, I love this model because I can actually breathe. I can rest. I know that it is not all up to me. We have families that are participating in our model because they truly believe what it stands for. They are buying into and involved in their child’s education. I love to see all our families acting like a village. We are all working together to see our children succeed and to see our children grow.
